Rent Local – Refund & Cancellation Policy
When you reserve an item through Rent Local, that item is immediately removed from availability and held exclusively for you during your selected rental period. Cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time are permitted. If payment was made online, the rental portion of the charge will be refunded; however, all payment processing fees (including but not limited to Stripe, Shopify, or other processor fees) are non-refundable.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time, or failure to pick up the reserved item for any reason, will result in a charge of one (1) full rental day plus any applicable service or platform fees. By completing a reservation, you expressly authorize Rent Local to charge the card on file for applicable cancellation, no-show, or minimum rental charges.
If a rental has been prepaid online and a refund is issued, only the rental portion of the charge will be refunded. Processing fees are retained by the payment processor and are not returned to Rent Local; therefore, they cannot be refunded to the customer. No refunds or credits will be issued for early returns once the rental period has begun, except in cases where the item is confirmed to be defective.
If an item is defective, unsafe, or does not function as intended under normal use, Rent Local will issue a full refund including rental charges, service fees, and any processing fees incurred. Any performance issue must be reported immediately at pickup or promptly upon discovery to qualify for a full refund.
Rent Local reserves the right to interpret and enforce this policy at its sole discretion and to make reasonable adjustments in extraordinary circumstances.
